Eamonn Holmes has blasted Phillip Schofield following his sudden departure from ITV’s This Morning show.
Schofield has left the show after 21 years at the helm, and is being temporarily replaced by Dermot O’ Leary and Alison Hammond, as his former co-star Holly Willoughby takes a two-week break.
Eamonn is refusing to accept that Phillip has decided to ‘step down’ and insists the presenter was axed.

“Oh please just stop this. He was sacked,” the outspoken Northern Irish presenter said earlier on his GB news breakfast show.
"All this nonsense of 'I've decided to step down'. I'm sure you did - here's your P45, now step down," he suggested.
Eamonn didn’t hold back as he continued his rant, also referring to Holly Willoughby.
“And she says: 'Oh, the couch will not be the same without him being there'. Well she wanted him not there.
“So what is she moaning about? They deserve each other I suppose'.
He went on: "Holly is being as false as he is and nobody is talking about the elephant in the room.
"She says 'I thank him for all his knowledge, experience and humour'.
“All the things that she didn't have when she came to the show.
“Well it's true! I would call that stabbing in the back.”
But not all Irish presenters share the same view with Ireland AM presenter, Tommy Bowe, this morning expressing his disappointment at the way in which Phillip Schofield has been treated in the lead up to his departure from This Morning.
Tommy said his departure “makes no sense to me.”
“If Phil has stepped down, sure that’s him done though.
“Eamonn Holmes, Kim Woodburn, and a number of people in the media are coming out about him - are people dancing on his grave a little bit?”
He told Ireland AM viewers: “I do believe there’s been stamping on someone when they’re down. He has been absolutely hammered and we really don’t know what he has done."
But Tommy was quick to rule himself out as Phillip Schofield’s replacement on This Morning, which airs on Virgin Media weekday mornings, following Ireland AM.
He said: “Oh no. Imagine living in London? My goodness, no thanks.”
