The Eagles are no longer the NFL’s only remaining undefeated team after a shocking 20-14 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Philadelphia’s All-Pro quarterback Jalen Hurts was 28 of 45 passing, for 281 yards, one passing touchdown, and three costly interceptions.
Hurts finished with eight carries for 47 yards and one touchdown, while D’Andre Swift combined for 12 carries and 30 yards rushing.
The Eagles had multiple players leave with injuries, and with a monster matchup against the Dolphins looming, here are five stats that truly break down the shocking loss.
Bryce Huff the menace
Bryce Huff generated a career-high 9 pressures on 28 pass rushes in the Jets' 20-14 victory over the Eagles.
Huff has generated a 25.7% pressure rate over the last two seasons, the only player over 22% (min. 250 pass rushes).

Mailata/Driscoll
Bryce Huff had more pressures on early downs (6) in Week 6 than he did over his first five games (5).
Huff took advantage of backup right tackle Jack Driscoll, generating 4 pressures on 11 matchups. He had 3 pressures on 8 matchups vs Jordan Mailata.#PHIvsNYJ | #TakeFlight

Opposing teams will now Blitz Jalen Hurts

After Sunday’s ugly loss at MetLife Stadium, the expectation has to be that opposing defenses will look to blitz and bring pressure to the Eagles at least 50% of the time now, choosing to take their chances on the backend with one on one coverage against A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Jalen Hurts was pressured on 21 of 50 dropbacks (42.0%) in today's loss against the Jets.
Hurts has a 3-7 record in 10 career starts when pressured on at least 40% of dropbacks, and a 25-5 career record when pressured on fewer than 40% of dropbacks.#PHIvsNYJ | #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/HVSyZfUIxa

More Driscoll
Fred Johnson signed an extension this summer and if Lane Johnson is forced to miss time, Jeff Stoutland could look to move Johnon or Tyler Steen around after Driscoll’s ugly performance.
Jack Driscoll allowed 7 pressures in 42 pass-blocking snaps Sunday.
1 sack and 5 hurries. 16.7% pressure rate allowed.
The #Eagles allowed 19 pressures as a team.

run-pass must balance
Philadelphia had 22 rushing attempts, copared to 45 passing attempts and the Eagles have struggled when quarterback Jalen Hurts attempts 40+ passes in a game.
Jalen Hurts had 45 pass attempts, second most of his career. He was sacked twice. So that’s 47 pass plays. They only ran 22 times. Only 14 from running backs.

The Eagles abandoned the running game against a team that had allowed 134, 157, 204 and 139 rushing yards the last four weeks, in order to attack an injured Jets secondary that appeared vulnerable.
D’Andre Swift has been on a tear, and Kenneth Gainwell is fully capable at the running back position, making the run-pass balance something that has to be addressed.
