The Jets are getting set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Week 6 of the NFL season and they will do so not having to face two of the better defenders on Philadelphia.
The Eagles have ruled out cornerback Darius Slay and defensive tackle Jalen Carter for Sunday’s game. Carter suffered a sprained ankle this week in practice while Slay has a knee injury. Both are likely to be back next week when the Eagles host the Miami Dolphins.
More:
— #Eagles DT Jalen Carter is dealing with an ankle sprain that is not considered serious, but expected to miss this week. Likely back next week.
— #Eagles CB Darius Slay (knee) is also expected to miss this week, but should be back next week. https://t.co/UY7DQo3z3l— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 13, 2023
The Jets catch a little bit of a break there, but the Eagles still have one of the deeper defensive rosters in the league. Still, not having Slay and Carter will sting a bit for the Eagles. Josh Jobe could slide for Slay opposite James Bradberry while Fletcher Cox and Jordan Davis will be among those up front for the Eagles.
The Jets still have a good challenge in front of them, but it got just a tad easier now that they won’t see Slay or Carter.
