Eagles’ Lane Johnson Has Perfect Response to Anonymous Critic

Lane Johnson of the Eagles is widely considered to be one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL. But one anonymous NFC executive hit the All-Pro tackle with some harsh criticism, leading to the Eagles star to fire back.

ESPN polled over 80 voters around the NFL and ranked the top 10 offensive lineman in the league. Its rankings included comments from the anonymous voters. One NFC executive apparently doesn’t think much of Johnson, who was listed at No. 4.

“He gets a lot of credit for being noisy and playing on a good team,” the executive said.

Johnson, 33, is a four-time Pro Bowl selection and was named first-team All-Pro this past season as his team made a Super Bowl run. He’s tied for the league lead in pass block win rate among offensive tackles at 95%, according to ESPN, and he appeared to acknowledge the anonymous criticism on Twitter with a single word and a clown emoji.

Johnson also posted a picture on Instagram alongside fellow Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata and wrote, “It’s that time of year for rankings, predictions, projections etc. Can’t wait to get back at it with my island brother!”

Mailata, who was listed as No. 5 on the ESPN poll, responded with support for his teammate.

“Let’s run this s--- back,” he wrote on Instagram.

They’ll get their chance to prove doubters wrong when the Eagles’ 2023 season starts Sept. 10 against the Patriots.
