Eagles elevate WR Julio Jones from the Practice Squad for matchup vs. Dolphins

The Eagles announced two roster moves on Saturday, with the most significant news being Julio Jones will make his regular-season debut just days after being signed to the practice squad.

The former All-Pro wide receiver and rookie defensive back Mekhi Garner were elevated to the 53-man roster and should see significant snaps.

Philadelphia will have Lane Johnson and Darius Slay back in the lineup, along with star rookie Jalen Carter.

The Eagles will be without starting safety Reed Blankenship (ribs) and slot cornerback Bradley Roby (shoulder).

Jones will make his Eagles debut on Sunday night against the Dolphins after signing with the team on October 17.

The veteran wide receiver is entering his 13th season in the league.

Last year, Jones caught 24 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In 155 NFL games, the seven-time Pro Bowl selection has caught 903 passes for 13,629 yards and 81 touchdowns.

Garner played 23 defensive snaps in Week 6, replacing the injured Reed Blankenship at safety in the second half.

Blankenship re-injured his ribs and will not play against the Dolphins.

Listed as a corner, the undrafted free agent can also fill in at safety and will provide depth for the secondary on Sunday.
