Eagles CB calls former Georgia DL Jalen Carter ‘a baby rhino’

Yes, its way too early, but former Georgia Bulldog star Jalen Carter is in the running for the steal of the 2023 NFL draft.

Despite a dominant career in Athens, Georgia, Carter dropped to the No. 9 overall pick where the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t hesitate in selecting the All-American defensive lineman.

Carter has already turned heads in Eagles practices and has had impressive showings in Philadelphia’s first two preseason games.

Eagles cornerback Darius Slay, an NFL veteran, gave his take on Carter in a recent episode of his podcast ‘Big Play Slay’.

Them Dawgs? Those Georgia Dawgs down there (on the defensive line), those boys are grown men. I know y’all heard the story about Jalen Carter breaking the sled. Buddy is STRONG.

Carter and UGA teammate Nolan Smith (No. 30 pick) joined former Bulldog defensive lineman Jordan Davis in Philadelphia.

I’ve been around a lot of great D-Tackles. I’ve been around Suh, Haloti Ngata, Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave. I’m trying to tell you, Jalen Carter, this kid is just very, very dominant, man.

This isn’t a surprise to college football fans. Carter had a knack for taking over games even when drawing double-teams and chip blocks from tight end

He’s very physical. He’s quicker than you think and stronger than he looks. He looks like a baby rhino. He’s pushing guys back. He’s a game-changer. He’s diesel strong. The man is throwing off double-teams in practice. It’s crazy this man fell to a Super Bowl team.

Jalen Carter was the No. 1 player on some NFL draft big boards. He fell to the Eagles, who had an early first round pick, for a Super Bowl participant, from a previous trade with the New Orleans Saints.
