Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster ruffled some feathers with his cold-blooded shot at Eagles cornerback James Bradberry over Twitter on Tuesday. The Valentine’s Day-themed roast drew an even harsher response from Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, who came to the defense of his Philly teammate.
Brown dropped the hammer on Smith-Schuster, referring to the Kansas City wideout as “TikTok boy” while calling his showboating “lame.”
Brown began his tweet by congratulating Smith-Schuster and Kansas City on their Super Bowl win, but he didn’t hesitate to defend Bradberry after the unnecessary showboating from the Chiefs wideout.
In addition to lambasting Smith-Schuster’s Twitter post, Brown savagely claimed Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had resurrected Smith-Schuster’s career.
Formerly with the Steelers, Smith-Schuster left Pittsburgh and joined the Chiefs on a one-year deal. In his first year in Kansas City, the 26-year-old registered 78 catches, 933 yards and three touchdowns. He had seven catches for 53 yards in the Super Bowl, during which he drew the controversial defensive holding call against Bradberry and the Eagles.
With Smith-Schuster not holding back one bit, Brown opted to match his energy with his bold clap-back in defense of his teammate.
Bradberry was the victim of a controversial defensive holding penalty which set up the Chiefs’ game-winning field goal during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII.
Smith-Schuster’s Twitter trolling may have been in good fun, but Brown made clear that the antics weren’t appreciated by the Eagles.
The two teams will square off at some point during the 2023 NFL season, at which point this fiery conversation might be continued.
