Eagle eyed fans notice the same thing in Conor McGregor training video

Conor McGregor posted training videos yesterday evening that left fans scratching their heads wondering what exactly had they just seen.

The videos, which were posted to Twitter, shows McGregor in a sparring session with a training partner.

In the first video we see McGregor rock his opponent with a trademark left hand shot, while in the second video, 'The Notorious' connects with a beautiful headkick before following up with a crunching knee to the body.

On first viewing, it appears as though the video may have been taken recently. However, upon closer inspection, it's clear that the video is from some time ago, and it didn't take fans long to figure out that they were looking at a historic training clip.

"This looks old," said one Twitter user, while another asked "Is this recent?"

"This is for sure old footage," proclaimed another Twitter sleuth.

There are a number of tell-tale signs in the video that suggest it is from some time ago. McGregor looks noticeably lighter, indicating that the footage is from his days as a featherweight.

Additionally, McGregor seems to have fewer tattoos in the video which would again suggest that this footage isn't exactly new.

Despite the apparent age of the video, the clip itself still created a serious amount of buzz. Many people who saw the footage remarked upon how sharp and agile the Dubliner looked, leaving them pining for the McGregor they remember seeing in the early days of his UFC career.

"The McGregor who picked his shots and bounced in the karate stance was unbeatable" wrote an impressed fan on Twitter.

"OMG and I'm a Khabib stan" said another user.

While another fan simply posted the word "Art."

New or not, there's no arguing that McGregor looks like a world beater in the clip. Having not set foot in an octagon in well over a year, many fans will be hoping that the McGregor in the above videos is the one that resurfaces when the Dubliner returns to the cage.
