EA Sports have altered FIFA 22 Ultimate Team's weekend league structure following the delay of FUT Season 6 and the Team of the Season promo.
The changes coming to FIFA 22 FUT Champions weekend league have been made to ensure that players get the current Team of the Season special player items as red picks in your rewards. EA Sports are still investigating an issue that prevented additional FUT content updates being released.
Due to this issue, EA Sports have since delayed the upcoming FUT Season and Season Objectives with a start date yet to be confirmed. FUT players were expecting additional content at 18:00 BST on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, but nothing was added in Squad Building Challenges or Objectives, with just the latest Team of the Week being added.

FUT Champions rewards for this weekend are expected to be the last round to feature red pick rewards based on the active Team of the Week, with Team of the Season player items expected to replace them. According to the current FUT Champions in-game screen, FUT Season 6 has begun but @EAFIFADirect tweeted this morning (Thursday, April 28, 2022) that FUT Season 6 and Seasonal Objectives will have a delayed start time that is yet to be announced.
According to the ever-reliable @FutSheriff and @DonkTrading, changes are coming to weekend league to ensure players get current Team of the Season player item rewards in their red picks from how they performed in the FUT Champions weekend league. The changes are expected to alter the start and finish time for weekend league, with the competition beginning on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 20:00PM BST and finishing on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 08:00AM BST.
EA Sports are still yet to release any more information on the upcoming weekend league or announce a start time for FUT Season 6, with the issues of releasing additional content into FIFA 22 Ultimate Team still ongoing.
