There were high hopes for Thomas Hartley and Adrian Sanderson after they navigated a rocky time on Married At First Sight UK. They became one of the of the matchmaking show's most popular couples after forming a close relationship following a row-filled honeymoon in Mexico.
The pair are now on the hunt for love again after deciding amicably that they should split during an emotional dinner party before making it to the final vows. In tearful scenes Thomas called Adrian, who lives in Manchester, his "rock" and vowed that he would still be in his life as a friend after the E4 show which sees singles marry strangers after being matched by experts.
"You mean the world to me. But just because we love each other doesn’t mean we’re supposed to be together," Thomas said, as Adrian burst into tears. During this week's reunion episodes, the pair were still clearly close as they arrived at the final dinner party together dressed in matching pink outfits.

But fans hopes were dashed after the last get-together with the relationship experts was aired, and Thomas was asked if Adrian had been in touch following the reunion. Thomas, who took to Instagram Stories for a Q&A, simply replied: "No."
Another fan questioned: "Are you and Adrian still friends? You don't follow each other." And Thomas wrote: "Erm." While pulling an awkward look, Thomas added: "I'll always have love for him, we just don't communicate well."
Fans were calling on the pair to join the Channel 4 armchair critics show Gogglebox. @AliceHinds tweeted: "Petition to get mafs Thomas and Adrian on Gogglebox." @kevwgs also said: "Petition to get Adrian and Thomas from married at first sight on #Gogglebox."
But Thomas has also quashed a potential team-up. He was asked: "Will you and Adrian be doing any Instagram live together or ay TV work? Need you two back on our screen." He replied: "I'll be doing my own stuff."
On Tuesday October 19, as the final show aired, Adrian shared a batch of smiling photos of the former newlyweds. "Tonight marks the end of one of my life’s most phenomenal journeys and I will be forever grateful, proud, and whatever the future may hold, Captain Curtains and Tornado Tom had a bloomin’ great run," he said.
