Married at First Sight UK's Thomas Hartley has issued a defiant message after his dramatic and emotional exit from the show. The Liverpool mental health care assistant had been coupled up with digital designer Adrian Sanderson on the 2022 series of the popular matchmaking show, which sees singles paired with their other halves on the day of their wedding.
The pair got off to a difficult start with a row by the pool on their honeymoon in Mexico. But the pair went on to overcome their difficulties and stayed together right until the final commitment ceremony of the series and the last dinner party with the other couples remaining in the process in Tuesday night's episode (October 11).
Questions remained over whether there was a romantic spark in their relationship, with Thomas being advised by his mum to leave the experiment during his home stay visit because the couple hadn't been intimate. Then there was a shock during the final dinner party as emotions ran high.

As Thomas gazed around the tables at the other couples, he became upset as he saw the romantic connections they had formed. The moment prompted him to ask Adrian outside for a tearful heart to heart and they decided they would not go on to take their final vows, which sees the couples decide if they will remain married.
In tearful scenes he called Adrian his "rock" and vowed that he would still be in his life as a friend. "You mean the world to me. But just because we love each other doesn’t mean we’re supposed to be together," Thomas said, as Adrian burst into tears.
On Wednesday afternoon Thomas tweeted to his followers: "To those who loved me, thanks for the love and support. To those who never, I wish you only happiness in your life! Thank you, next."
Back at the dinner party, Adrian made a heartfelt speech to announce their parting of ways. But the atmosphere changed, as mild-mannered Adrian had an angry showdown with Matt Murray and Whitney Hughes.
After Thomas and Adrian's relationship was branded the 'most fake', Adrian laid into Matt’s failure to make his relationship with ex wife Gemma Rose work on the show before moving on to Whitney, who was married to Duka Cavolli. Adrian blasted: "If there’s any person in this world who’s going to tell me I didn’t work my a*** off at this marriage, it most certainly will not be someone who didn’t give his a day."
Adrian impressed fans by taking a stand. @AralcNagnal cheered: "Go Adrian!!!!" @chloeelou_x shoited: "GO ON ADRIAN!! What a king, and what an exit!" And @iheardyouafreak said: "I’m crying someone put a battery in Adrian’s back loooool you can tell he’s been around Tom far too long."
Fans already missing them are now calling on the pair to join the Channel 4 armchair critics show Gogglebox. @AliceHinds tweeted: "Petition to get mafs Thomas and Adrian on Gogglebox."
@kevwgs also said: "Petition to get Adrian and Thomas from married at first sight on #Gogglebox." @itsnotnxsh commented: "I could see Thomas and Adrian being on gogglebox." And @millidgism said: "Adrian and Thomas have got to be future Gogglebox contenders at the very least."
