E4 Married At First Sight UK's Whitney speaks out on backlash after watching episode with fellow brides

Married At First Sight bride Whitney Hughes has spoke out again after watching the first dinner party episode of the series with some of her fellow brides. Viewers of the E4 marriage experiment tuned in on Wednesday night (September 7) to see the end of the latest honeymoons before the couples came together for the first time.

While the brides and grooms had already met separately before tying the knot, the dinner part saw them all come together as newlyweds. And it's fair to say it didn't go smoothly for every couple as they quizzed each other on married life so far.

Whitney and husband Duka haven't necesirly been on good terms since being one of the first of the series' new couples to say 'I Do'. The show's experts - Paul C Brunson, Charlene Douglas and Mel Schilling - commented how the new couple couldn't have entered the party further apart.

And it wasn't long before Whitney made her feelings clear as she struggled to speak positively about her wedding day. After being asked about her wedding by Thomas, she rolled her eyes and gave a long 'erm' before saying: "It happened."

After another pause she said: "The guy made us say, 'I do' but 'I do' is really intense...I was like...'Do I?' It was just a bit of a shock to the system." As Whitney spoke to her fellow contestants, she joked: '"I survived!" before spotting some single chairs and commenting: "I'm going to sit here by myself."

As the group sat down to eat, Whitney appeared unimpressed as Duka have a speech. As the chatting around the dinner table got underway, Whitney soon ended up leaving in tears with Kasia comforting her.

She told her fellow bride that Duka was 'fake' and that he's 'different off camera'. While MAFS viewers flocked to social media to share their fury over the 'rude' behaviour, Whitney took to Instagram to share her side of the story.

She wrote: "I'm always in two minds about whether or not I should speak up about what I'm experiencing but that has put me in an uncomfortable position in the past. Equally it's impossible to explain my side of things without bringing down others and that's not what I want to do.

"We're only two weeks in, a lot more will unfold in the next few weeks. One of the many things this experience has taught me is patience but whether or not you can change your opinion on me, it's never going to be ok to personally send me or others vile messages/comments."

She continued: "I can't imagine doing that effects your life in a positive way, that energy could be used to show love to anyone you support. Putting all that aside I would like to say a massive thank you to the people reaching out to show support. It honestly means so much xo."

Whitney also appeared to share how she watched the dramatic episode with Kasia and their fellow co-star April Banbury. She took to her Instagram Story to show three glasses being clinked together before tagging April and Kasia.

The episode also ended in tears for April who was left upset after her husband George Roberts told his co-stars about April's kiss with another woman, which she says was a dare, during their honeymoon in Jamaica.

George, who previously told April that he had put the incident behind him and would be keeping things private ahead of the dinner party, was quick to mention it to Richie before sharing the news with some of the others who were also a part of the experiment.

And it was Thomas who took it upon himself to tell April that she was being spoken about behind her back. Pulling April away from the group, Thomas said: "I think there are rumours in the air," to which April replied: "What's that?" Thomas responded: "That you kissed a girl in a hot tub."
