Married At First Sight UK stars Matt Murray and Marilyse Corrigan have spoken out after sparking romance rumours by jetting away on holiday together. Matt has taken a break after it was revealed that he had split from Whitney Hughes after they fell in love on the marriage experiment show.
The pair rasied eyebrows among viewers and ruffled feathers among their 2022 series co-stars when they got together after Matt ended his marriage with Gemma Rose and Whitney split from her husband Duka Cavolli. Just last week fans of the E4 show, which sees singles paired up by experts and meeting for the first time on their wedding days, watched the pair share their final vows to one another.
But earlier this week, during Monday's first installment of a two-part reunion dinner party, the stars of the show and viewers discovered Matt and Whitney had broken up just weeks after falling for each other. Explaining the reason for their split, Matt said: "I just think we hit a few boundaries. It's s***. It was, it was s***.

And Whitney said: "I feel that because Matthew has a lot going on in his life – a lot going on in his head – I felt that it was manifesting to me sometimes in ways that I didn't like."
Following the backlash from his decision to couple up with Whitney, Matt headed off on holiday with Married At First Sight 2021 star Marilyse Corrigan, whose marriage to Franky Spencer ended after the show. While they haven't been posting pictures together on their break, fans have been flocking to the comments asking questions and showing their support if they were romantically involved.
However, Marilyse's representatives have hit back at any claims they're an item. "Marilyse has gone to recover from a marathon which she ran for Kidney Research recently and she’s celebrating with her son that it's a year since donating her kidney to save his dad’s life. "Matt has gone to recover from the trauma of the show, as you’ll have seen last night it’s taken a toll on his emotional wellbeing.
"Marilyse knows oh too well how the public reaction can impact the mental health of the men on the show as she saw how it impacted Frankie. So she’s being nothing more than a supportive friend to him whilst other friends from the show are filming the Christmas reunion."
Meanwhile, Matt's clarified he remains friends with Whitney amid rumours they are reuniting. They said: "Matt and Whitney are not pursuing a relationship, they remain friends and have been since the final episode filmed in June. Matt wants nothing but the best for Whitney and hopes she finds the happiness deserves.
"Many fans of the pair will no doubt be saddened by this news, but due to the heartbreak Matt and Whitney felt with the break up, witnessed by fans of the show on Tuesday night's episode of Married At First Sight, Matt wants to squash these rumours and make it clear he did not start them "It is claimed a source 'close to Whitney' has spilled the tea, but there is simply no truth in it."
