A video clip has caught an e-scooter rider driving along Dublin's M50 motorway.
The footage was shared widely on social media and shows the e-scooter rider driving in the central median among busy traffic.
He can be seen glancing behind him as he merges over to the hard shoulder ahead of Junction 4 Ballymun. He continues riding along the hard shoulder when the video cuts out.
Last year there were a whopping 746 traffic incidents involving e-scooters, including 554 collisions. According to the Road Safety Authority, vehicles that cannot travel or maintain a speed of at least 50km per hour or have an engine capacity of 50cc or less are banned from motorways.
