The 2022 Cost of Living payments distributed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have provided a much needed lifeline for many. Rises in the cost of living have meant not only increased food and fuel bills for all households but also additional worry as soaring bills put pressure on households across the country.
As part of a £3.6 billion government package, increased winter fuel payments have been directly targeted at older people. Those born before 26 September 1956 have been eligible for an additional amount of between £150 and £300 to help with bills over the winter of 2022.
All payments were due to have been paid by Friday, January 13, 2023 and while the majority of people eligible for the amount automatically received payment into their bank accounts, what happens if you've been expecting payment but have not yet received one? What should you do? Money Saving Expert has provided a guide on actions you should take.
