DWP: What to do if you don't receive your £150 cost of living payment today

Today is the last day that people will receive their £150 cost of living payment for disability from the Department for Work and Pensions - with more than six million people on certain benefits already seeing the cash drop between last month and today.

And the final few who are yet to receive their payment should see it before the day is out. It's also worth noting that a small portion of the payments will be made after today - but these will go to people who were still awaiting confirmation of their eligibility to disability benefits on April 1.

In order to be eligible for the disability payment, you must have been claiming a qualifying benefit on or before the aforementioned date. Those qualifying benefits include Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Scottish Disability Benefits (Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment), Armed Forces Independence Payment, Constant Attendance Allowance or War Pension Mobility Supplement.

The Mirror reports that if you were receiving a qualifying benefit from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and a qualifying benefit from the DWP, you'll only receive a payment from the latter.

What do I do if I haven't received the cost of living payment?

Before you report your payment missing, you should double-check that you definitely haven't received it. The payment reference on your account will appear with the code 'DWP COL' alongside your National Insurance number.

The money is paid separate from your normal benefits, so you'll not receive it as a part of that payment. Should you have failed to receive your cost of living payment by midnight tonight, and you're not waiting for confirmation of entitlement, then you should contact the DWP.

The DWP, said: "You will be able to report a missing disability cost of living payment from 5 July, 2023. Do not contact us before then as we will not be able to take any action."

If the deadline passes and your payment is still missing, you can fill out a form via the Government website to raise the issue. You can report your missing cost of living payment here.

The DWP has also previously said that you should not report your missing payment more than once.
