Thousands of women are being issued a warning to check their pensions. It comes as Department for Work and Pensions errors were discovered.
Some paid married women's stamp - a reduced National Insurance rate - are now getting what they're owed. Around 10,000 women are estimated to be subject to the rule.
It's unclear how many are affected but some last year were underpaid by more than £1billion in total - just under £9,000 each, Birmingham Live reports. Pensions expert Steve Webb told the Sun : “We know that the DWP is making errors when assessing claims for the new state pension but it seems its is not checking for past errors."
