The UK Government has introduced measure that will let a broader range of healthcare workers in Scotland certify fit notes in an effort to reduce the pressure on GPs.
Starting July 1, nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacists, and physiotherapists will be permitted to legally certify fit notes, rather than just doctors.
Workers who take more than seven days off of work due to sickness should receive a fit note.
