The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) unveiled plans earlier this year to issue a £650 one-off cost of living payment to over 8 million households throughout the UK.
The UK Government department stated that it would begin sending people eligible for the boost the first instalment of the payment — £326 — in July. The money will begin arriving in accounts starting July 14 and will continue through to the end of the month.
As reported by the Daily Record, the sum will be paid to those who claim certain means-tested benefits as well as Tax Credits from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). People who only claim Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credits will receive the first instalment later in 2022.
