With the Queen's Jubilee on the horizon, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed some benefit payments will be paid earlier than usual. This is due to the jubilee and the spring bank holiday during the first weekend of June as a four-day bank holiday commences across the country.
The Queen will be making history once again as she celebrates her Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years of service as a monarch to the country from June 2 to June 5. Thursday, June 2, is a UK-wide spring bank holiday and Friday, June 3, has been declared a national holiday to allow everyone across the country to celebrate.
As a result of the extended bank holiday, the DWP has announced that Universal Credit, PIP and some benefit payments will be paid earlier than usual. The DWP offices and phone lines will be closed during this time.
