Temperatures have dropped significantly across Leeds recently. Due to the rising cost of living crisis many have been left concerned about how they will keep warm throughout this winter.
The good news is that people who live in and around Leeds will now be eligible for cold weather payments. The payments were introduced by the government to help people who receive certain benefits to get through cold winter months.
If the weather where you live has been or is forecasted to be under zero degrees for seven days you might be eligible to receive a £25 payment. To check if you are eligible for the Cold Weather payment, you can use the government's postcode tracker. Leeds Live has checked every HD postcode area from HD1 to HD7 area.

To be eligible for the payment, you also need to receive one of the following: Pension credit, Income support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Support for Mortgage Interest.
The following are all eligible to receive one or two instalments of the £25 payment. should receive one payment for each week temperatures are below zero.
