Pensioners worried about their finances amid the worsening cost of living crisis have been encouraged to take matters into their own hands and apply for a benefit that could see them get as much as £3,000 per year.
In an effort to offset soaring costs, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak announced in his spring statement last week that the threshold for paying National Insurance would rise to £12,570.
As reported by Yorkshire Live, he also revealed that there would be a cut to fuel duty and that homeowners would pay 0% VAT on energy-saving materials including solar panels and heat panels during the next five years.
