New Universal Credit rules are set to change the amount of time that benefit claimants are given to find a job.
New Department of Work and Pensions guidance will force Universal Credit claimants to widen their job search much sooner than they are currently required to, reported Lancashire Live. Previously, people had three months to find employment in their preferred sector.
But, following the introduction of new rules earlier this month, that time limit has been cut to just four weeks. After this time, claimants must begin applying for jobs that they may not want, or be well suited for.
