Tory MPs tonight passed a Universal Credit rise of just £10.07 a month and a state pension rise of just £5.55 a week.
The real-terms cuts passed a House of Commons vote 298-29, despite pleas from both Tory and opposition MPs. Labour MPs were whipped to abstain.
In total, 13 Labour MPs and one Tory, Peter Bottomley, defied the whip to vote against the below-inflation rise.
