The government department issued a fresh reminder on Thursday in a tweet warning motorists that they could face a hefty fine if their address is not up to date. You need to update your licence if you've changed address, even if it's temporary, reported the Daily Record.
According to GOV.UK, drivers can be hit with fines up to £1,000 if they do not notify the DVLA of a new address, as current residential information is required should the holder be involved in an accident. The rule counts for both full and provisional licensees.
