Dustin Poirier appears to slap UFC fan over Conor McGregor sign

Dustin Poirier appeared to slap a fan who held up a sign which had the message 'Hey Dustin, your wife's in my my DM's' on it.

Conor McGregor infamously attempted to troll Poirier after their trilogy fight in 2021, claiming that the American's wife Jolie had messaged him on social media.

But the insult didn't really have the desired effect as McGregor was lying on the canvas with a broken leg at the time after suffering his second defeat to Poirier in less than six months.

Poirier took part in the Youngsville Mardi Gras parade in his native Louisiana over the weekend when the fan held up the sign to him.

The Diamond didn't take kindly to it and appeared to slap the man after holding out his hand.

Following their third fight in July 2021, Poirier hit out at McGregor over some of the Dubliner's trash talk which the American felt crossed the line, especially a comment the Notorious made saying that he was going to kill his opponent.

Poirier said in his post-fight press conference: "There is no holds barred with the trash talk, right?

"But murder is something you don't clown around with and there is no coming back from that.

"This guy was telling me he was going to murder me and all kinds of stuff and saying he was going to kill me and I was going to leave here in a coffin. You don't talk to people like that."

McGregor is set to return to the octagon later this year to face Michael Chandler as he aims to record his first win since January 2020.

Prior to the bout, the pair will come up against each other as coaches on the new series of the UFC's The Ultimate Fighter.
