Dustin Johnson celebrated his £3.5 million LIV Golf victory in Boston by jumping on a private jet with his wife Pauline Gretzky. The American secured his maiden individual title on the Saudi-backed series after clinching the win via LIV's first ever play-off hole.
The two-time major winner saw off LIV Golf new boys Joaquin Niemann and Anirban Lahiri, after sinking a monster eagle putt on the opening hole of the title shootout. Johnson's victory also helped his team - the 4 Aces - to a third straight title of the series, securing another £2.6 million to split between them.
It did not take long for the the 2020 Masters champion to start celebrating, as after popping champagne corks with his teammates in front of the Boston crowd, he jumped on a private jet alongside his wife Gretzky.
Photos on Instagram showed the 38-year-old enjoying himself up in the air, as he was also joined by one of the men he pipped to the title in Niemann. After swooping over £4 million in prize money, Johnson spoke highly of the new Saudi-backed series and claimed LIV Golf is 'only going to get better'.
He said: "It means a lot. Obviously with the calibre of players that are playing, especially now on LIV, we've got great fields every week. We're going to continue to have great fields. It's probably going to even get better starting next year.
"But even right now our fields are unbelievable. For me, it's something new. It's something exciting. I'm really enjoying being out here, and we're playing at great venues and they do a wonderful job putting on the tournaments.
"I think you talk to any of the fans, the players, whoever, staff, they do a great job taking care of everyone and making it a great experience for everyone. I'm just really happy to be a part of it." Johnson's maiden win continues his impressive start to his LIV Golf career.
Victory in Boston saw the 38-year-old move over the $10 million (£8.7m) earning mark for the campaign, after just four LIV events. The American will be no doubt looking to carry on his impressive run when he and the rest of the Saudi-backed series head to Chicago on September 16.
