Dunipace Football Club have been left gutted after their pitch was set on fire.
The East of Scotland First Division side have appealed for information to be put to the club or Police after the pitch at Westfield Park was set ablaze. It will set the club back an estimated six figures in damages and the Scottish football community has started to rally round the side that has been left to count the cost of costly actions from thoughtless vandals.
In a statement, Dunipace said that they are 'absolutely heartbroken at the damage done to Westfield last night' and that the 'damage is estimated in six figures.' League Two side Stenhousemuir are one nearby club and they have offered their Ochilview facilities to The Pace. They tweeted: "Absolutely disgusting to see and baffles me how anyone would want to do this. @DunipaceFC we’re happy to support with offering Ochilview free of charge from 12pm this afternoon if you need a venue. Just contact the club and we’ll be happy to help."
