Dune: Part Two merchandise raises eyebrows with NSFW popcorn bucket

Dune: Part Two is set to hit cinemas on March 1st.

If you're a devoted science fiction fan, chances are you're eagerly anticipating the release of Dune: Part Two, which is set to hit cinemas on March 1st. Originally scheduled for release in 2023 but delayed due to the Hollywood writer and actors strike, this highly anticipated film is generating a significant amount of excitement among fans. With such a massive fan base, it's no surprise that merchandise related to the movie is already appearing on the market, but not all of it is receiving positive attention.

One piece of merchandise, in particular, has caught the internet's attention for rather unconventional reasons. An image of a popcorn bucket that will reportedly be sold in cinemas has gone viral due to its striking resemblance to a 'fleshlight' sex toy. The bucket features a lid in the shape of one of the giant worms from Frank Herbert's iconic novel, Dune. The mouth of the worm serves as an opening for moviegoers to insert their hand and retrieve their popcorn. While we won't go into further details of what a fleshlight is, the internet has certainly let their imagination run wild, resulting in the popcorn bucket becoming a crude meme.

Critics and fans have suggested that perhaps using the box from the Gom Jabbar test scene in the first Dune movie as inspiration would have been a safer choice for a popcorn container. Nevertheless, if you're interested in owning this unique item, you'll be able to purchase it at AMC theatres when Dune: Part Two is released.

As the release date of Dune: Part Two draws near, the excitement surrounding the film continues to grow. Both longtime fans and newcomers to the series are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring world of Arrakis once again. Stay tuned for more news and updates as we inch closer to the long-awaited premiere.
