DUNDEE will host Radio 1's Big Weekend three years after organisers were forced to cancel the event in the city due to Covid-19.
From May 26 to 28 Camperdown Park will welcome festival-goers to the City of Discovery. Camperdown Park also hosted the event in 2006.
It is likely to feature some of the biggest names in music. Last year's event included performances from Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris, Anne Marie and Sam Fender.
An official announcement by Radio 1 is expected in the coming weeks after The Courier revealed that the city of jute, jam and journalism was to host the annual event.
Many Dundonians were disappointed last year when the event travelled to Coventry.
Fans had expected it return to Dundee after the planned festival in 2020 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
Harry Styles and Dua Lipa were scheduled to perform at the event in 2020.
Thousands are expected to descend on the city for the event. In previous years the majority of tickets have been reserved for residents of the host city.
Dundee will become the first Scottish city to host the event twice.
