Dundee's Main hits the ground running with hat-trick in Premier Sports Cup opener

Dundee striker Curtis Main is brimming with confidence heading into the new season after a standout performance in his team's 7-1 thrashing of Bonnyrigg Rose in the opening match of the Premier Sports Cup.

Main wasted no time in getting on the scoresheet, putting the Dark Blues ahead in the 12th minute to set the tone for a dominant display.

The 32-year-old forward went on to complete a well-deserved hat-trick, showcasing his clinical finishing and setting the stage for an impressive team victory.

Dundee manager Tony Docherty was full of praise for his side's ruthless display against the Scottish League Two opponents. In addition to Main's heroics, the team was further bolstered by goals from Antonio Portales and Lyall Cameron, leaving the Bonnyrigg Rose defense overwhelmed throughout the match.

With this convincing win under their belt, Dundee will look to carry their momentum into the upcoming league campaign as they aim to mount a strong challenge for the top spots in the Scottish Premiership.

“For a striker it is great to get off the mark early doors, and for myself it is fantastic to get a hat-trick in the first game,” Main explained.
