Restoration of Dumfries town centre fountain stalled this week because councillors were unhappy with plans for an accompanying public artwork.
Dumfries and Galloway Council officers had recommended that the £400,000 project be rubber-stamped.
And, while councillors were happy to give listed building consent for the refurbishment of the fountain, concerns were expressed about the proposed new artwork.
