Twenty-three-year-old Dumfries player Chris McBride is away with the Scotland Men’s team as they commence their World Cup Qualifier Tournament in Zimbabwe with a match against Ireland next Wednesday, June 21.
Chris, who made is debut last year, said: “The tour is going to be pretty full on. The appeal of playing in a world event, with it being my first ever qualifier, is very exciting.
“I dreamt of getting into the national team when I was a young boy and I remember going to watch my brother play for Scotland U19s in Belfast, so that was when I really wanted to get involved. There was a lot of pride for that debut, especially for Dumfries, my home cricket club. I always get great support from them.”
