A team of fundraisers in Dumfries and Galloway have raised thousands of pounds to help save a charity for bereaved parents.
Scottish group SiMBA announced it faced closure in January unless it raised more than £150,000 by the end of March.
The charity supported the D&G Baby Loss Awareness group to help create a Tree of Tranquillity in the Crichton Estate to give parents a place for them to remember their children.
And members of the local group stepped up to do their bit to help save SiMBA.
A bake sale, quiz night, running challenge and a charity football tournament were all held, which raised more than £5,000.
Lauren Patterson of the group said: “We would like to thank everyone who has helped and taken part in fundraisers, given us raffle prizes and everyone who has supported us.
“SiMBA do amazing work for bereaved parents and we are glad we have been able to help. This money will help to support more families who suffer a loss.
“We’re just so happy that the money has been
raised.”
Lauren’s partner Gary Doyle was sponsored to run 240 kilometres in February and Lynsi Mills held a raffle which raised more than £1,800.
A bake sale was held in JP’s Hair Salon and there was also a pub quiz at Green’s and a football tournament.
A race night will be held in Stranraer and a variety of other events will take place throughout the rest of the year.

SiMBA has supported more than 50,000 individuals and families across the UK and Ireland who have suffered the loss of a child by providing memory
boxes.
However due to the rising cost of making the boxes, and an 83 per cent increase in demand for their services in the past three years, their finances have been stretched.
