Dumfries and Galloway Eco Warriors look for help for 2022's final beach clean

Dumfries and Galloway Eco Warriors are looking for help for their final beach clean of the year.

On Sunday, November 20, they’ll be cleaning the MOD land at Mullock Bay near Kirkcudbright – one of the worst bays the group has cleaned in the past.

This is the ideal time to clean the bay as the reeds have died down during winter. The amount of plastic that has washed up means as many people as possible are needed to take part.

Volunteers should meet at 10.30am at the tennis courts in Kirkcudbright to convoy to the bay no later than 10.45am.

Bins, skips and a portaloo will be provided by the MOD and there will also be a tractor and trailer but anyone with a quad and trailer who would like to get involved should email dgecowarriors@gmail.com or contact the group through Facebook.

Pickers and bags will be provided but people should bring their own gloves, lunch and refreshments and wear suitable clothing.

The clean is expected to last from 10.30am to 2.30pm and will be supported by Dumfries and Devorgilla Rotary Club, Solway Firth Partnership and police cadets.
