David Bogie made it a perfect 10 on the McDonald and Munro Speyside Stages.
The Dumfries driver took victory in the Elgin-based event on Saturday in his Mini WRC with co-driver Barney Mitchell.
It was the 10th time that Bogie – a five times Scottish Rally champion – had won the event.
But he only emerged on top after a thrilling battle with the Subaru Impreza of Castle Douglas’ Jock Armstrong and navigator Cammy Fair.
Double champ Armstrong made a flying start to the day and was nine seconds ahead after three stages.
Bogie clawed a second back in the fourth test before a string of problems hit him on stage five.
He was able to sort them at service and was faster than Armstrong over the final four stages to take victory by 20 seconds. Armstrong and Fair had to settle for second.
Two other Dumfries and Galloway crews made the top 10. Mark McCulloch was eighth in his Proton Satria, navigated by Michael Hendry, with Angus Lawrie, of Castle Douglas, and Paul Gribben, of Annan, taking 10th in their Mitsubishi Evo 9, which also saw them win the Albyn Garage Challengers class.
The Pro2 class honours went to the Peugeot 208 of Richard Stewart from Dumfries.
The similar car of Dumfries pair Peter Stewart and Harry Marchbank, which took victory on the season-opening Snowman Rally, retired after three stages.
Dumfries’ Robert Proudlock once again won the M2 class in his Vauxhall Adam with Steven Brown. Scott Peacock from Castle Douglas and navigator Craig Wallace were second in their MG ZR with the similar car of Haugh of Urr brother and sister Keith and Mairi Riddick having to retire after four stages.
The Ford Escort Mk2 of Thornhill’s Jim Robertson and Mike Curry was second in class H2 with the pair also winning the Haddo Energy Super Seniors class.
Despite issues with the distributor, he finished ahead of the similar Mk2 of Creetown’s Jim McDowall.
And Stranraer pair Martyn Erskine and Kieran Hyslop won the C2 class in their Peugeot 206 Cup for the second round
running.
Bogie is currently tied with Michael Binnie at the top with Armstrong a point behind.
