Dujon Sterling NOT part of Rangers' pre-season camp in Germany as 'reason' behind absence explained

Dujon Sterling has NOT travelled with Rangers to Germany for their pre-season camp.

The 23-year-old summer recruit has been left at home to undergo treatment after picking up a calf injury report the Scottish Sun. The knock is NOT deemed to be serious and is only a slight set-back for the defender as the Light Blues continue their pre-season preparations ahead of the Scottish Premiership campaign kicking off and Champions League qualifiers.

Sterling is one of six new recruits to join Michael Beale's summer overhaul and he was hoping to make a good impression on his new boss and build further bonds with his team-mates ahead of the fight to dethrone Celtic this upcoming campaign.

The defender signed on a free transfer from Chelsea this summer as part of a pre-contract agreement with Kieran Dowell and Jack Butland agreeing similar deals.

Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers have arrived in transfer fee moves from Italy with Atalanta and Cremonese doing business with the Ibrox men as they boost their attacking ranks following the departures of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Scott Arfield.

Abdallah Sima - who has signed on a season-long loan from Brighton - also strengthens the ranks in the final third and his no stranger to the Ibrox men or new Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers having come up against them previously in the Europa League.
