Dug-up roads trouble Dharampura residents

Ludhiana: Residents of Dharampura area are troubled due to digging of roads as the work has been left in between. On Wednesday the husband of councillor Jasbir Singh Jassa met mayor Balkar Sandhu at zone D office and complained against the contractor, who did not complete the work and also condemned the officials for not acting over the complaints.

He said the contractor had dug up the roads in Dharampura area, but for the past few days work was stopped. “Soon the rainy season will start and people will face tough time when rain water will cover the dug up portion of road and commuters will be unable to judge the surface.”He claimed that he had contacted the officials concerned, but they did not give satisfactory reply. He alleged that officials instead of solving the issue asked him to get them transferred from the area. He warned the mayor if issues were not resolved, then they would sit on protest.
