Ducati’s Diavel V4 Goes Stealthy With Black Roadster Livery

Out of all the models in Ducati’s lineup, the Diavel just has to be the most un-Ducati of them all. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the Diavel is by all means a badass machine—but it sort of doesn’t really know what it wants to be.

Is it a cruiser? Well, its laid-back ergonomics would certainly suggest so. But its 168-horsepower V4 engine and cutting-edge technology seems to suggest that this thing is more about performance.

Pretty much everyone describes the Ducati Diavel in their own unique way. I’ve heard folks calling it a big naked bike, a cruiser-sportbike, a sport-touring bike, and the list goes on. But generally speaking, it’s widely considered to be a power cruiser, which is really just a way of calling it a cruiser that has way more power than it has any business having.

So yeah, totally badass. But you know what’s even more badass? This new Black Roadster livery unveiled at the Intermot motorcycle expo in Cologne, Germany. It’s an execution that a lot of Diavel enthusiasts will certainly love, as it gives the loud and boldly styled machine a stealthier, more understated look.

It was created by the Centro Stile Ducati, Ducati’s styling center in Borgo Panigale, Italy, and makes heavy use of dark shades of black and titanium. Up on the fuel tank, Racing Yellow accents nod to some of Ducati’s most popular racing bikes finished in the bright hue.

Ducati says that the Diavel V4 Black Roadster is inspired by the styling of muscle cars, concentrating mass up front, giving off a vibe of high-performance and serious horsepower. Meanwhile, out back, the bike gets a sleek and elegant tail section, only for the massive 240/45 rear tire to catch all your attention.

And of course, beneath the surface, the Diavel V4 Black Roadster is every inch a Diavel V4, and so it’s decked out with all the MotoGP-inspired electronic wizardry you could ever ask for. It’s got ride modes, lean sensitive ABS and traction control, and even launch control and wheelie control. Yeah, totally normal stuff you’d expect to find on pretty much any cruiser.

Now, Ducati has added the Black Roadster Livery to its online configurator, which means you can head over there and design (and potentially order) your very own Ducati Diavel V4 Black Roadster right now. Just remember that Ducati’s one-of-a-kind power cruiser carries an MSRP starting at $27,195 USD.
