There won't be much barbecuing this weekend with heavy rain set to batter the country this Easter.
Met Eireann say we can expect a miserable weekend with strong showers set to dominate the long weekend, particularly on Easter Sunday night into Monday morning. And the week leading up to the Easter celebrations won't be much better with more heavy rain following the wettest March on record in Ireland.
Early morning rain and drizzle will mostly fizzle out today with the forecaster saying we can expect a mostly dry day with highest temperatures of 11 to 13C. But rain will develop again tonight and remain persistent throughout the evening.
