Ireland will be battered by more rain as Met Eireann has forecasted further unsettled weather.
Things are looking grim for St Patrick's Day with heavy and prolonged showers bringing a risk of thunderstorms. But it's not all bad news as the temperatures will be above average for this time of the year.
Today will start off mostly wet and cloudy with outbreaks of rain which will clear northeastward through the morning. Sunny spells will follow with scattered showers, some of which could turn heavy with possible thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.

Daytime temperatures will be around 14 to 16 degrees. Tonight will see some clear spells but there will be showers or longer spells of rain with the lows of 6 to 9 degrees.
Tomorrow (St Patrick's Day) will be a bit of a mixed bag with cloudy and sunny spells expected. There will be showers which will turn heavy and prolonged at times with a chance of thunderstorms. The highest temperatures will be around 12 to 14 degrees.
There is no further forecast for Dublin so here's what the national outlook says:
Friday night
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Some clear spells overnight but largely cloudy with scattered showers, some still heavy. Later in the night, outbreaks of rain will move in over parts of the west and northwest. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees. Mist and fog patches will form in light breezes. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds will develop on Atlantic coasts later as the rain arrives.
Saturday
"A wet morning with widespread outbreaks of rain, largely clearing eastwards through the morning and early afternoon. Most areas becoming dry with some sunny spells, but showery rain will affect much Ulster. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees in moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, strong at times in the northwest.
Saturday night
"Dry with clear spells for most though showery rain will continue in parts of Ulster. Cloud will build from the west later. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds, strong at times along northern coasts.
Sunday
"A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain developing in the southwest, gradually extending across the country, reaching the northeast towards evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees. Light to moderate westerly winds will back southerly in the afternoon. Overnight, the rain will turn heavy at times. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees, mildest in the southwest, in mostly moderate southerly winds."
