It's set to be a wet start to the weekend with outbreaks of heavy rain and cloudy conditions, and a weather expert has warned that there is a chance of rare snow over the Easter.
Met Eireann warned that today will be mostly cloudy in Dublin with spells of rain throughout the day, which will be heavy at times. Highest temperatures will reach 9 or 10 degrees with moderate northwest breezes developing.
According to Met Eireann, temperatures will start to rise later in the coming days and we will see less rainfall, with temperatures to be average for April. However, an independent weather expert Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather has warned that there is a chance for a "lot of snow" on Easter Sunday.

Taking to Twitter and showing a weather model which appears to pinpoint the arrival of snow on Easter Sunday, Alan O'Reilly wrote: "Interesting start to April weather models with one model showing a lot of snow for Easter Sunday!"
Weather maps from WXCHARTS in the UK suggest that a cold snap could be on the way next weekend - with a warning that temperatures could plummet to as low as -6C in Scotland. The unsettled outlook has triggered a surprising gamble from weather watchers, and BoyleSports has in recent days slashed the odds of snowfall at Dublin Airport on Easter Sunday to 7/1, despite offering a larger price of 20/1 at the start of the week.
Here's Met Eireann's forecast for the coming days:
Tonight
"Rain will become light and patchy tonight, gradually becoming dry overnight. Some clear spells may develop but overall it will likely be cloudy. Lowest temperatures of 5 or 6 degrees. Northwest winds will ease light overnight.
Sunday
"Sunday will be dry with a mix of cloudy periods and some bright or hazy sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees. Light easterly breezes.
"Mostly clear, becoming cloudier in the west and southwest before morning. Light or moderate southwest winds, fresher winds near some Atlantic coasts. A chilly night with lows of 3 to 6 degrees.
Monday
"Quite cloudy with brightest weather in the north and east, especially during the morning. A mostly dry day for many however there will be some patchy drizzle.
"Rain will likely turn more persistent along western coasts in the evening. Moderate to fresh southerly winds. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
Monday night
"Mostly cloudy with some rain or drizzle in the west and north, mainly dry in the east and south. Breezy along western coasts, with southerly winds largely easing light elsewhere. Lows of 4 to 7 degrees, coldest in the southeast of the country."
