After their dramatic quarter-final win over neighbours Armagh, Monaghan will seek to reach their first All-Ireland SFC final since 1930 at the expense of Dublin.
The Farney needed a last-gasp free from Conor McManus in injury-time in extra-time to bring their last eight clash with the Orchard to penalties, before winning the shootout 9-8 with Rory Beggan making the vital save from Callum Cumiskey.
Dublin had an altogether more routine victory in their quarter-final as Dessie Farrell’s men upped the ante in the second half to ease past Mayo by 12 points with Colm Basquel finding the net in each half.
The Dubs lost out to eventual champions Kerry at the semi-final stage last season, but the Kingdom needed a late, stunning Sean O’Shea free to edge a tight affair.
Monaghan famously defeated Dublin in the League last season to send the Leinster champions down to Division Two.
They’ve since earned promotion back to the top tier for 2024 and Dublin won the last Championship meeting 1-19 to 0-12 in 2017’s All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.
