Dublin has been rated as one of the worst cities in Europe to visit if you plan on having an eco-friendly stay.
As sustainability becomes more and more important against the backdrop of wild fires across Europe this summer, tourists are increasingly looking for green options for a guilt free holiday. Luggage storage app Bounce has rated Europe's city break destinations for their sustainability - and it is bad news for Dublin.
The survey took into account the number of eco-friendly hotels available, air pollution levels, green energy performance and carbon footprint, the percentage of people who use active travel or public transport and the number of Michelin green star restaurants to calculate each destination's 'sustainable city score'. Berlin was most sustainable followed by Stockholm and Zurich.

Meanwhile, Dublin was rated the fourth worst out of 28 cities. Rotterdam in the Netherlands was the least sustainable followed by Athens in Greece and Serbia's Belgrade.
Dublin's overall score was just 2.91 out of 10 while Berlin, the chart topper, scored 6.98 out of 10. The Irish capital scored poorly in the eco friendly hotels with just 1.1% available and zero Michelin green star restaurants.
However, Dublin did well on active travel and public transport use with a score of 65.6%. Previously, Dublin Live reported on common complaints about the capital's tourists attractions.
