A Dublin community is in mourning following the sudden death of a beloved character.
The Boar's Head barman David Clarke died following a fatal accident last week. The city centre pub shared a heartfelt tribute to Clarke who worked at the pub for 10 years.
In a statement online, The Boar's Head said that Clarke lost his life in an accident. They said: "It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved barman and friend, David Clarke, following a fatal accident.
"Dave was a devoted member of our team here in The Boar's Head for the past 10 years. Those of us who knew and worked with Dave knew him as a quiet and respectful individual who would go about his business in a professional manner, but would not fail to get a laugh with his witty one-liners.

A number of customers, friends, and former co-workers took to the comments to pay their tributes with one person saying: "Very sorry to hear this. Worked with Dave many moons ago when I came to Dublin first.
"We stayed in touch for years and used go to Croker together unfortunately lost touch and hadn’t spoken to him in a few years. He was a gentleman May he RIP."
Another person said: "Awfully sad news, Dave was a real gentleman. Sympathies to his family and all the staff in the Boars. RIP."
