Dublin Jobs: Dream role available working with wallabies on remote island

New positions have opened up on Lambay Island offering a lucky few the chance to be surrounded by wallabies on a daily basis.

The jobs currently advertised on agrirecruit.ie are for an Island manager and a shepherd, with both requiring successful applicants to live on the remote island.

Lambay Island is just one mile in diameter and a 20-minute boat journey from the north county Dublin coast.

The island manager will be offered a salary between €30,000 - €40,000.

The main responsibilities include leading a small team based on the island that is responsible for the upkeep of the farm, hospitality and logistics.

The successful candidate will be provided with free accommodation, fuel and Wi-Fi. Groceries will be delivered by boat on a weekly basis

A position for island shepherd is also advertised.

Lambay Island currently has a flock consisting of "300 Lleyn ewes" and are looking to grow that further.

The main duties of the Shepherd include keeping records, fencing, wallaby trapping as well as other estate duties.

Cottage accommodation is provided along with free fuel and Wi-Fi. The salary for this position is €25,000.
