There’s a familiar look about the Go Ahead Adult Hurling League Division One at the end of the first week’s fixtures as the usual suspects had early success.
Championship holders Kilmacud Crokes and runners-up Na Fianna both registered wins on the opening weekend, as did Ballyboden St Enda’s, Lucan Sarsfields and Cuala.
Crokes ran out narrow 0-12 to 0-8 winners over a dogged Ballinteer St John’s outfit at Silver Park on Sunday morning.
They had keeper Eddie Gibbons to thank for his contribution at both ends of the pitch as he registered two points before saving a Rob Aherne penalty in the closing minutes.
Ballyboden top the division of points difference after week one thanks to a convincing 2-15 to Naomh Barróg at Páirc Barróg.
Na Fianna were 0-19 to 1-12 winners away at Whitehall Colmcille, while Lucan Sarsfields edged a high-scoring encounter with St Brigid’s at 12th Lock by 3-19 to 3-15.
Cuala came away from Faughs with a slender 1-16 to 0-17 victory, while Craobh Chiaráin and St Vincent’s played out a 0-15-all draw in Clonshaugh.
