A Dublin dad has written and recorded a magical Christmas song with the help of his son, and it's sure to be a festive hit with the holidays just around the corner.
Sean O'Brien is from Blanchardstown where he lives with his family including his six-year-old son, Sam. The song is titled 'Santa Don't Forget About Me' and features vocals from Sean and Sam.
Speaking to Dublin Live, Sean explained his inspiration for the song was the festive season, which he recorded in his friend's studio in Cavan. He said: "I wrote the song Christmas 2019 but like all my other songs I just kept it for myself. The song was recorded in a friend of mine's studio in August of this year."

Sean explained: "We recorded the song at my friend named Tony Reilly's studio in Co Cavan. It took several weeks as we wanted to have it perfect and to have that perfect Christmas sound. Working with my son Sam Huang was a brilliant experience, I was so proud of how easy it was for him to remember the lyrics and without any hesitation sing in the studio."
Sean said that making the song with his son Sam was a "wonderful" experience, and that as a new artist the dad-of-two has chosen the stage name of Beautiful Echo. He explained: "The song Santa Don’t Forget About Me is available on all streaming platforms world wide now, and so will the other songs starting in January 2023."
Sean also revealed that he has more Christmas songs at home ready to record. He said: "I have more Christmas songs at home to record. Some of them are love song styled Christmas songs to happy styled Christmas songs like Santa Don’t Forget About Me. I can also write love songs etc for other artists if I was ever asked to."
For 'Santa Don't Forget Me', Sean and Sam created a lovely, festive-inspired lyric video which was filmed at Sean's friend's home in Dundalk. He said: "The charm of it all was that Santa himself was there for the shoot! The picture lyric video came together as obviously I’m not signed to any label and its myself footing the bill so the picture video was the best option."
After they made the song, Sam told his classmates about it and they asked to listen to the song which they loved. Sean explained: "His teacher had asked to hear it, it was so nice what she did she played the video on a tv for his whole class at St Francis Xavier and the kids all sang along to the song.
"Since then I’ve had parents and the children come up to me and say thank you for the song," added Sean. He said that Sam's class also sang their song 'Santa Don't Forget About Me' at their Christmas fair last Sunday.
Sean is also hopeful that Sam and his classmates might be able to get on tv over the Christmas holidays to sing the song, with parents already having started a social media campaign.
The song 'Santa Don't Forget About Me' is on YouTube and on Spotify.
