Dublin Bus is set to launch it's 24-hour services this weekend.
The new "G Spine" routes and Route 60 will replace the 79 and 79A buses as well as the western part of the number 40 route in the capital as a part of BusConnects' new network. Both the G1 and G2 will have overnight services, running every 60 minutes every night of the week.
The G1 services will run from Red Cow Luas, going through Ballyfermot to the city centre, and finally, ending at Spencer Dock. Additionally, the G2 route will service Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Ballyfermot, the city centre, and Spencer Dock.

Route 60 will go from Red Cow Luas into Clondalkin, Cherry Orchard, Ballyfermot, Decies Road, Islandbridge, the city centre, and Sir John Rogerson’s Quay.
The number 40 bus will start from Charleston Shopping Centre to Earlsfort Terrace/Leeson Street. It will no longer serve Liffey Valley Shopping Centre to City centre as this section is being replaced by the new G2.
The G1 and G2 will run operate twice as frequently on the Spine section between Ballyfermot and the city centre. Buses will run on both the G1 and G2 at the following frequencies:
- Every 10-30 minutes on weekdays
- Every 15-30 minutes on Saturdays
- Every 15-30 minutes on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Route 60 will run every 60 minutes.
If you use a TFI Leap Card then you will be charged the 90-minute fare for most journeys in Dublin. The TFI Leap fares are as follows:
Short Fare
- Adult €1.30
- Young adult/student €0.65
- Child €0.65
TFI 90-Minute Fare
- Adult €2
- Young adult/student €1
- Child €0.65
A spokesperson for Transport for Ireland said other routes for the new network will be rolling out over a phased basis over the next few years.
