Dublin Airport and Ryanair issue conflicting advice to passengers ahead of Easter rush

Dublin Airport and Ryanair have issued conflicting advice to passengers ahead of the Easter rush.

Ryanair announced a change to their travel advice yesterday in order to "minimise overcrowding" in Terminal 1.

The airline is now advising people to be at the airport no more than 2.5 hours before their flight, a change from last month's request to passengers to arrive at least 3.5 hours before flying.

However, the daa are still telling passengers to arrive up to 3.5 hours before their flight regardless of whether they're flying short haul or long haul.

Passengers due to fly from 8.30am onwards have been urged not to arrive into the terminals before 05.00 am so as to ease the pressure on the security regime..

The airport is expecting 250,000 departing flyers during the Easter period.

They said security in Terminal 1 remains open 24/7 to help with queues while security from Terminal 2 opens at 4:00am each day.

daa also recommended passengers to "check with their airline in advance of travelling to the airport regarding when check-in and bag drop-off opens ".
